2024 was a significant year for Eovolt, but with their sights firmly set on 2025, we’ll see the brand debut a new non-electric version of the Afternoon Pro at COREbike.
Founded in 2018, Eovolt stands firm as a trailblazer in urban transportation. Based in Lyon, France, they have quickly built a reputation for their innovative folding electric bicycles that combine cutting-edge technology with sleek, functional design.
With each year that passes, investment has helped the brand meet specific goals. Following a €16 million fundraising round in 2023, the brand is now poised to expand its influence in the electric and non-electric bike markets.
With proprietary designs from their in-house engineering team, Eovolt is investing wisely, committed to innovation and positioned for growth in 2025 and beyond.
2018-2023: The Origins Range
Constantly investing in the business, Eovolt set aside a percentage of annual turnover towards research and development, carefully evaluating how each step brings them closer to creating the best bikes for their end user.
The brand’s origins lay in folding e-bikes, but that’s not to say that’s where they’ll stop. For Eovolt, their dedication to creating high-quality bikes for everyone sets precedence. From premium bikes to the standard Origins range, the desire to cater for a variety of riders and offer reliable performance and foldability at an accessible price point is a priority.
The Origins Range, available in 16”, 20”, and 24” wheel sizes, will also be showcased at COREbike.
2024: The Year of the Afternoon 20” Pro
Last year, Eovolt launched the Afternoon 20” Pro, a bike that received accolades from riders and industry alike. With six design patents, its features include:
– Auto-Locking Hinges: A game-changer for quick and secure folding.
– Fold-and-Go Locking Mechanism: Seamless portability for modern commuters.
– Proprietary Seat Post Battery System: Ingeniously designed with a magnetic charging port for effortless recharging.
– Belt Drive System with automatic gearbox: For smooth, low-maintenance riding.

These innovations saw the Afternoon 20” Pro receive the ‘Editor’s Choice Award’ from Cycling Electric, something reserved for products that stand out. This further cemented Eovolt’s position as a leader in the folding e-bike space.
Understanding Consumer Needs: The Non-Electric Afternoon Pro
In 2025, Eovolt is set to broaden its appeal by launching the non-electric version of the Afternoon Pro.
Scheduled to debut at COREbike, the new model retains the design features that made its electric counterpart a market leader. The non-electric Afternoon Pro offers a modern, versatile and affordable solution for urban cyclists at just £1499.
The launch of the non-electric Afternoon Pro is a move that underscores Eovolt’s understanding of diverse consumer needs. While electric bikes have surged in popularity, the demand for high-quality, non-electric alternatives remains robust.

“Creating a modern non-electric folding bike made perfect sense for us as we aimed to design the lightest possible bike that offers maximum freedom to be taken anywhere, every day, everywhere,” explains Eovolt Founder, Luca Chavalier.
“It was a natural extension of our flagship electric bike, the Afternoon Pro, while also making folding bikes more accessible, as non-electric models are generally more affordable,” he adds.
For Eovolt, building a great network is another priority. Their focus is working with people who get to know the brand and their bikes. For them, it’s about building partnerships with retailers, not just the level of buying power.
Retailers are invited to experience this exciting new addition to Eovolt’s lineup. In the UK, Eovolt is distributed by Pinpoint CE, on hand to provide support as well as the most commonly used spares for retailers.
The Future of Urban Mobility
As urban mobility evolves, Eovolt is at the forefront of the movement. With a state-of-the-art factory in Lyon and significant financial backing, they are well-positioned to continue pushing the boundaries of innovation.
“Eovolt’s mission is to become the world’s leading brand for compact and folding electric bikes, driven by cutting-edge innovation and the expertise of our in-house engineers,” says Chavalier.
What to Expect at COREbike
COREbike is shaping up to be a pivotal moment for Eovolt. Visitors will get a first look at the non-electric Afternoon Pro, and have the opportunity to explore Eovolt’s full range of offerings.
