Re-cycle seeks new partners and drop-off locations for bike donations

Re-Cycle (Bikes to Africa) is on the lookout for new partners across the UK— people and places who can help collect and store donated bikes. Once a number of bikes have been gathered, Re-Cycle will arrange their collection and transport them to our warehouse, ready to be sent to communities across Africa.

From Garage Clutter to Global Impact

Every year, thousands of perfectly good bikes are abandoned, left to rust or dumped in landfill. But with the right support, those bikes can be life-changing in Africa—helping children get to school, healthcare workers reach patients, and families access jobs and vital services.

Re-Cycle is expanding its UK-wide network of drop-off locations and calling on businesses, community groups, schools, and logistics partners to join the mission. If you have space to store bikes, you could be part of something incredible. Once a collection of bikes is ready, Re-Cycle can help with transport to our warehouse, making the process effortless. If you’re collecting bikes for us, just let us know—we can help coordinate transport and support you by promoting your location as a drop-off point.

A Stronger Future

Established over 25 years ago, Re-Cycle has had an ever-increasing impact across Africa, expanding its network of community partnerships to transform even more lives.  To ensure Re-Cycle can thrive for another 25 years, it will be vital to grow its donation point network in the UK.

We’re incredibly thankful to all our business partners here in the UK who help us reach so many communities. To ensure our collection service is as robust as it can be, we’re looking for new partners—big or small—who can help us keep that momentum going – Re-Cycle Director, Charlotte Ward

Why It Matters—Here and Abroad

The benefits aren’t just felt in Africa. Donating a bike supports sustainability, reduces landfill waste, and strengthens the UK’s circular economy. It also brings people together—connecting communities around a shared goal to do something good.

You Can Help

Whether you run a business, work at a logistics company, or just want to make a difference in your area, we’d love to hear from you. Get in touch via communications@re-cycle.org to learn more about supporting Re-Cycle, or visit www.re-cycle.org.
