Fizik launches the all-new Vega carbon road shoes

Fizik has officially launched its new flagship carbon road shoes, the Vega Carbon, a “lightweight, powerful, and innovative racing road shoe, designed for riders seeking top-tier performance.”

The brand says the Vega Carbon shoes are designed from the sole up and feature a host of innovative advancements, including an updated anatomical shape, strategically mapped materials, and an integrated outsole.

Vega Carbon: Natural New Shape

Following the launch of their new helmet range last month, fizik have followed with a new road performance shoe said to offer a new and improved ergonomic shape with a straighter axis, reduced heel-to-toe drop and expanded toe box, reflecting the changing needs of modern riders. This updated geometry allows the foot to fully stretch, enhancing stability, reducing fatigue, and improving overall comfort.

The full-carbon outsole is integrated directly into the shoe, concealed beneath the upper fabric to reduce overall stack height in the cleat area. According to fizik, this places the foot closer to the pedal, maximising power transfer and delivering a more natural feeling while pedalling.

Fabrics and Features

Fizik claim that the Aeroweave PRO woven fabric, coupled with a thin translucent mesh, offers improved breathability and weight saving while also retaining tenacity. They say that by strategically mapping materials and utilising distinct materials in specific areas, Vega Carbon ensures exceptional performance without compromise, making it the ideal choice for intense, high-output rides.

Featuring a foot-wrapping bootie made of perforated Airprene material ensures “greater comfort and a pressure-free fit for improved comfort and stability.” Cyclists can fine-tune their fit with a Dual-Dial Li2 BOA® Fit System that allows for separate adjustments between the instep and midfoot areas.
