Niche Mobility closes €1.6M funding round to launch digital motor for e-bikes

Niche Mobility, a Spanish company which specialises in the development of technological solutions for light mobility, has shared that it closed a €1.6 million investment round in March.

The funds – which will support the final development phase and the transition to production of its innovative ADTS electric motor for e-bikes – also bring new partnership knowledge to the fore. As a company focused on innovation and electric mobility, Niche has brought on board new strategic partners who support its vision.

This capital increase was subscribed by the Mondragón Promotion Fund and Copreci, advised by asset manager Clave Capital.

It also included participation from existing shareholders, a group of local business angels (based in Figueres, Alt Empordà) led by the CEBA project, who reaffirmed their commitment to the initiative by once again supporting Niche’s vision and potential in the field of sustainable and innovative mobility.

Strategic industrial alliance with Copreci

Talking about the new partnership, Rodrigo Orue, director of innovation, new business, and digital Transformation at Copreci, comments: “A fantastic development, as it fits perfectly within an industrial partnership strategy. For a company like Copreci, with vast experience, technical knowledge, and production capacity in electric motors manufacturing, the partnership with Niche presents a strategic opportunity for diversification and growth.”

Renewed trust and a clear roadmap

Marc Barceló, CEO of Niche Mobility, expressed great satisfaction with the completion of the investment round, stating that: “(it) confirms the strength of the project. We are deeply grateful for the support from both new partners and our current shareholders who believe in the project, the team, and our vision. This investment allows us to stay on track and ensures the product is completed in time for its presentation at Eurobike 2025.”

Niche now enters a key stage: transitioning from prototype to production, consolidating its roadmap toward industrialisation.

Innovation, sustainability, and the addition of new partners to achieve leadership in sustainable mobility with its automatic gearshift system for e-bikes,

Niche’s Automatic Digital Transmission System (ADTS) —an automatic gearshift mechanism with a European patent—enhances performance and user experience in electric and urban bicycles.

With a strong focus on improving the cyclist’s experience, Niche aims to promote the daily use of bicycles as an urban transport solution through more intuitive and efficient riding. The addition of new partners strengthens its positioning in a rapidly evolving sector.

Currently, Niche is collaborating with various brands as testing partners and has attracted the interest of OEMs (bicycle manufacturers) that are evaluating the integration of its technology into their upcoming models.
