Last month saw BikeBiz editor, Lauren Jenkins, exploring the work of Fostering Inclusive Action Sports (FIAS), a University of Bristol-based research project exploring gender inequality in mountain biking.
With the April print edition of BikeBiz focused on diversity and inclusivity – making cycling more accessible and welcoming – you’ll have seen a feature titled ‘Mountain Biking has an image problem’.
In the feature, we explored the impact that images used in media coverage have on how people view an activity, and the influence this has when making decisions about whether an activity is something that seems accessible to them.
With this – accessibility – firmly in mind, the final day of the month sees us sharing details of a Project FIAS women’s off-road ‘Cycling Community of Practice’ series in Wales.
