Label Collective: cycling apparel that champions creativity, collaboration, and community

Label Collective, started in Amsterdam by cycling marketing veteran Julian Roberts, is set to launch its first range with the introduction of the Connection Collection on Monday, June 3, 2024.

A cycling apparel brand that champions creativity, collaboration, and community, Label Collective is founded on the belief that labels are for clothing, not for people. Label Collective strives to bring together cyclists from all backgrounds, fostering a sense of unity and belonging.

Roberts points out that Label Collective apparel is designed not just for performance but to connect riders from all walks of life through the power of community, reinforcing belief in the power of unity and collective progress.

With the brand’s launch, Label’s Connection Collection seeks to encapsulate the spirit of unity and the freedom of the open road: Two elements which have the power to connect people.

Designed in the EU with the final labels being sewn on by a local seamstress, the launch marks a significant milestone for the brand, which “seeks to redefine creativity and collaboration, emphasizing that labels are for clothing, not for people”.

“Connection captures the essence of being one with the road and others. We meet people on the roads and form friendships,” says Julian Roberts the founder of Label Collective.

“It’s about those moments where time seems to slow down, allowing you to appreciate the small details that make life extraordinary. Every piece in this collection is crafted to foster a deep connection between the rider, their bike, the people we meet and the journey ahead.”

Whilst sustainability is part of Label, inclusivity, accessibility and equality are the brand’s main focus, with its mission to support social causes over our profit.

10 + 1: For people and planet

As a brand, Roberts wants Label to be a positive force in the world, in the way the business is run, and beyond.

Why? Because beyond the textile industry, Roberts recognises that “we are also part of a wider world. One where systems are unjust, vulnerable people need more support, and the planet is forever being polluted and depleted.” It’s here that, as a small business, Label wants to be a part of building a better, fairer world – and, in doing so, seeks to help protect people and planet.

The Label pledge

Label has pledged to give 10% of each purchase to social causes through a partnership with Active Giving.

On top of that, the brand pledges a minimum of 1% of its annual profits to support charity partners with the incredible work that they do – from providing food parcels to vulnerable families, helping people from disadvantaged backgrounds to access outdoor spaces, to conservation charities who help to protect our natural world.

Sustainability is very much part of the Label mission. Roberts comments: “Along this journey, we will hold ourselves accountable to our targets, and make informed decisions. To help us measure our business’s impact, we have joined the KnowESG platform.”
