Cycle SOS backs Cycling UK’s Women’s Safety Campaign

Fletchers Solicitors, through its specialist cycling legal brand Cycle SOS, has renewed its long-standing partnership with Cycling UK for a further three years. The renewed commitment ensures continued access to Cycling UK’s free Legal Incident Line, offering expert legal advice and support to members in the event of a cycling-related incident.

Alongside this partnership, Cycle SOS has also committed to sponsoring ‘My ride. Our right.’ – Cycling UK’s flagship campaign focused on tackling the gender cycling gap by addressing the root causes of women’s safety concerns on UK roads.

We’re absolutely thrilled to be extending our partnership with Cycling UK. Through this collaboration, we’ve supported hundreds of members at some of the most challenging points in their lives – helping them recover from injury, rebuild confidence, and where possible, get back on their bikes.

It’s fantastic to continue that work while also backing important initiatives like My ride. Our right. and supporting safer infrastructure through Fill That Hole. These projects reflect our shared commitment to safer, more accessible cycling for everyone – Nadia Kerr, partner and specialist cycling lawyer at Fletchers Solicitors

With over three decades of experience supporting injured cyclists, Cycle SOS is the specialist cycling legal brand of Fletchers Solicitors and a trusted name within the cycling community. Its dedicated team of personal injury lawyers has recovered millions of pounds in compensation and prioritises client care, rehabilitation, and road safety advocacy

The Cycle SOS team has seen firsthand the risks cyclists face – many of which disproportionately affect women. That insight has shaped Cycle SOS’s support of ‘My ride. Our right.’, which aims to build a more inclusive and equal cycling culture by challenging the barriers women face when taking to the road.

Launched in March 2025, ‘My ride. Our right.’ calls for increased investment in active travel and infrastructure that prioritises women’s safety. The campaign highlights the need for direct, traffic-free cycling routes, inclusive planning that amplifies women’s voices, and broader awareness of the new Highway Code to encourage greater respect on UK roads.

Earlier this year, Cycling UK research revealed that while seven years of progress has led to fewer barriers for men, women have seen little to no improvement, reinforcing the need for targeted action and long-term investment.

We’re proud to have the continued support of Fletchers Solicitors, which strengthens our work to remove the barriers that prevent women from cycling and to push for change that makes cycling safer and more inclusive.

Support like this is essential to our work as we make the case for shorter journeys by bike to improve public health, strengthen our communities and reduce our environmental impact. Not only will this partnership help us build a future where cycling is a safer, but one where cycling is seen as an accessible and everyday way to get around – Felix Hilton, Head of Partnerships at Cycling UK

Cycle SOS will also continue its sponsorship of Cycling UK’s Fill That Hole app – a tool that allows cyclists to quickly report potholes and road damage to the correct local authority. Since launching in 2007, nearly 200,000 potholes have been reported through the app, helping improve road conditions and support future claims if authorities fail to act.

With worsening road surfaces and continued underfunding, potholes pose a serious risk to cyclists – often far greater than to motorists. Fill That Hole offers an easy and effective way for cyclists to raise safety concerns, with reports directly supporting accountability and safer infrastructure.
