Job Overview
We’re looking for a new addition to our passionate and dedicated team here at The Cycle Hub!
Passion for bikes and cycling (whether road, MTB or any other discipline) is a must! As a family run, “by riders, for riders” local bike shop, our priority is supporting our local cycling community with top notch service, expert sales advice, and a passion for all things two-wheels!
Core duties will include assessing, repairing and servicing all types of bikes, both electric and non electric with a keen eye for detail. We strive to ensure every bike serviced by us leaves the shop as good as, if not better than new; quality work is key!
Time management and excellent personal organisation are a must in order to effectively manage job load and keep track of labour timings.
The ideal candidate should have great communication skills both in person and over the phone for when calling customers with servicing estimates and answering workshop related queries.
There is scope for this role to expand over time if the candidate shows a willingness to work hard, learn new skills and take on further responsibilities, allowing for a pathway to higher renumeration in line with expanded duties.
Responsibilities
- Asses, fix and repair bikes in for servicing.
- Remain up to date and knowledgeable on the latest component releases.
- Provide relevant and considered advice to customers for part upgrades and replacements.
- Engage with customers over the phone to discuss work estimates and answer customer queries on recommended work.
- Upsell items where appropriate to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales.
- Build up and PDI new bikes to a high standard ready for sale.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth shop operations.
- Assist in workshop stock management, monitoring to maintain good stock of regular use parts.
Qualifications & Skills
- Proven time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- CyTech Level 2 or equivalent desired.
- Excellent communication skills in English
- Strong organisational skills to manage workload across multiple jobs.
- Previous bicycle mechanic experience required
- High personal standards for own quality of work and a drive to consistently improve
- Passion for bikes and cycling!

Salary: Between £25000 and £30000 dependant upon experience and qualifications.
