We’re seeking an experienced, highly motivated, enthusiastic, smart, diligent Cycle Technician (part-time / freelance) who has a keen appetite to get fully involved in the business and become an integral part of the team.

Role Highlights:

  • Engage with customers in an empathetic way; to understand the issues they are facing with their bikes
  • Provide diagnostic guidance on what repairs, servicing may need to be carried out along with any supporting parts /accessories.
  • Carry out a range of repairs and servicing for e-cargos and e-bikes safely and to the highest standards using workshop equipment and tools and the latest software diagnostic applications.
  • Generate and print technical reports (where required) to support each service job and explain to customers the key highlights of any findings.
  • Ensure customers are kept abreast (via email or phone) of any delays or changes in the scope of repairs and get their approval for any additional work.
  • Working closely with the Branch Manager / Head Workshop to ensure workshop jobs are logged and completed in an agreed timeframe.
  • Always maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Carry out PDI of all bikes before they are handed over to customers.
  • Advise and update the Branch Manager / Head Workshop of current inventory levels 
  • At certain times, provide back-up sales & advisory support on the shop floor, engaging with customers in a professional, polite and supportive manner.

The ideal candidate:

  • Should always deliver an outstanding customer experience
  • Minimum Cytech 2 qualified or equivalent (E-Bike qualification helpful)
  • Familiarity with technicalities of E-Cargo bikes
  • Have demonstratable technical skills to evidence Cytech 2 or equivalent qualifications
  • Technical diagnostic and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task without jeopardising customer engagements or the Cycle Race teamwork schedule.
  • Reliable team player, not afraid to step in when things also get busy in the showroom.
  • Have excellent communication skills (verbal & written), ability to articulate confidently, technical product information to a range of customers in a considered manner
  • Full UK driving licence (preferable)
  • Familiar with Inventory systems e.g. Citrus Lime, Lightspeed (preferable)
  • Ability to follow detailed policies and procedures 
  • Have keen attention to detail across all aspects of bike repairs and product updates. 
  • Never afraid to smile, even when things may not go as planned !!
