Van Rysel unveils EDR CF Ultra high-performance endurance bike

Having won grand tour stages with the Van Rysel RCR, as ridden by UCI Pro Team Decathlon-AG2R La Mondiale, the Lille-based brand has introduced EDR CF Ultra – a performance-focused endurance bike.

The EDR CF Ultra is said to “combine racing DNA with endurance-specific engineering to deliver a ride that’s fast, forgiving, and ready for the long road ahead.”

Designed for endurance

Designed over two and a half years by Van Rysel‘s in-house team of performance engineers, the EDR CF Ultra features a high-modulus carbon frame weighing a brand-claimed 830g (size M).

When compared to the RCR range, the EDR’s geometry offers an increased stack height and reduced reach for greater comfort over long distances.

At launch,  the brand highlights that “A unique carbon layup ensures strategic compliance around the bottom bracket and rear dropouts, without compromising the frame’s responsiveness, while the semi-integrated front end allows for fast adjustments and straightforward maintenance.”

Rachel GassierVan Rysel Endurance Category Product Manager – “Comfort is performance.  The EDR CF Ultra is for riders who chase speed—but refuse to compromise on long-distance comfort.”

Equipped to go the distance

EDR CF Ultra is not an evolution – and the Van Rysel team are keen to point out the bike represents “a completely new platform built around the needs of ultra-endurance riders”:

  • Tyre clearance up to 38mm, for comfort and confidence across varied terrain

  • Three bottle cage mounts, including one under the down tube

  • Mudguard compatibility, for all-weather versatility

  • Handlebar designed with Deda, with space for aero bars and other accessories
