Whyte Bikes has introduced two new gravel bikes with the arrival of its brand-new Verro and Tourus.
At launch, Whyte describes the Verro as optimised for rough gravel, whilst Tourus is positioned as a light gravel option.
Verro – designed with mountain bike-inspired geometry, big tyre clearance and full mounting options – is “built for big days out”, with wide 700x50mm tyres, a dropper post, and progressive geometry for full confidence off-road.
Tourus comes equipped with 2x Shimano GRX, mudguard mounts and 700x45mm tyres, and is positioned as “perfect for touring and daily commuting.”
Discussing the design process and the concept of the new bikes, Ian Alexander, Chief Designer, comments: “We’ve been continually developing our unique mountain bike derived Total Geometry concept into our drop-bar bikes since 2011 when we launched the Saxon-Cross. It was a precursor gravel bike in all but name, before gravel was even a lazy label. Since then we haven’t sat still: incrementally adding all the latest design concepts from geometry to drivetrain we can put on the bikes, to keep pushing gravel riding performance to an ever-higher level.”
The launch announcement concludes by highlighting “bikes arrived with retailers this week and are available to purchase at launch.”
